OAR and Fitz & The Tantrums light up the Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre in Freedom Hill with feel-good vibes and energetic melodies on their Summer tour.

DJ LogicThe opening set was a masterclass in genre fusion, creating a soundscape that was both innovative and immersive. His set began with a mix of ambient electronic beats layered with jazz riffs, setting a mesmerizing tone. As the evening progressed, DJ Logic expertly incorporated elements of hip hop and funk. His skills on the turntables were impeccable, with flawless transitions that kept the momentum going throughout the performance, making for an unforgettable start to the evening.

Fitz and the tantrums delivered a high energy performance that had the audience buzzing with excitement. From the moment they took the stage, the band's infectious energy and charisma captivated the crowd.

The evening began with the upbeat songs “Sway” and “Heaven,” a perfect opener that set the tone for the rest of the concert. Lead singer Michael Fitzpatrick, known as “Fitz,” was in his element, captivating the crowd with his dynamic stage presence. The band's musicianship was on full display throughout the evening. Drummer Blair Sinta and saxophonist/guitarist James King laid down solid grooves that had the crowd dancing from start to finish. Jeremy Ruzumna's keyboard riffs and Joseph Karnes' bass lines added depth and complexity to the band's sound. The production was top-notch, with vibrant lighting and a colorful backdrop that added to the festive mood. Fitz and The Tantrums made sure to bring out crowd favorites like “Out of My League” and “I Just Wanna Shine,” and even did a fantastic cover of the Eurythmics' “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This).” The highlight of the night was their final performance of “HandClap,” which had the crowd going wild, dancing and clapping to the band's beat.

Fitz and The Tantrums delivered a stirring performance that was both musically compelling and incredibly entertaining. Their ability to connect with the audience and create a joyful, inclusive atmosphere is a testament to their talent and stage presence. It was an evening of great music, dancing and pure joy that left everyone looking forward to the next time Fitz and The Tantrums take to the stage.

RUDER delivered an electrifying performance that thrilled fans old and new. The evening was a perfect blend of nostalgia and fresh energy that showcased the band's evolution while honoring their roots. The concert began with a one-two punch of “Whose Chariot?” and “Just Like Paradise,” which immediately captivated the crowd with its infectious rhythm and sing-along chorus.

Lead singer Marc Roberge's voice was as strong as ever, and his charisma and warmth made the large hall feel like a tight-knit gathering. The band's musicianship was on full display, with each member contributing to the vibrant, layered sound. Richard On's guitar solos were both precise and soulful, while Benj Gershman's bass lines provided a solid foundation for the band's rhythmic explorations. Jerry DePizzo's saxophone and Jon Lampley's horn playing added a unique flair, bringing a jazzy, improvisational element that elevated the entire performance. Drummer Chris Culos, along with keyboardist Mikel Paris, kept the energy high, driving the band through extended jam sessions that kept the crowd dancing nonstop.

OAR's setlist perfectly showcased the highlights of their career. Songs like “Shattered (Turn the Car Around)” and “Love and Memories” had the whole room singing along to every word. The night ended on a high note when renowned bassist Brady Watt stepped up and backed the band for a fantastic encore of “Gonna Be Me” and a cover of The Band's “The Weight”. DJ Logic joined the band for “Anyway” and “That Was a Crazy Game of Poker”. Fitz and The Tantrums even took the stage for a killer finale of “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Tears for Fears, a fan favorite that brought the crowd's energy to a fever pitch and provided an unforgettable end to a fantastic show.
