Teenager hospitalized after gunshot rage in suspected road rage incident: HCSO

HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – A teenager was shot in an alleged road rage incident in Hillsborough County. According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, two vehicles were traveling near 4202 South Falkenburg Road around 5 p.m. Tuesday when an altercation occurred.

Then the driver of one of the cars is said to have pulled out a gun and fired at the other vehicle. One of the bullets hit a 16-year-old passenger.

According to HCSO, she was taken to Tampa General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

“There is absolutely no reason for an innocent 16-year-old to be in the hospital for a road rage incident,” said Sheriff Chad Chronister.

The HCSO said that the investigation into the shooting is ongoing, but that they are in contact with everyone involved and believe this is an isolated incident.
