NYPD: Man wanted in connection with alleged anti-Semitic incident in NYC

The NYPD is asking the public for help in identifying a person wanted for questioning in connection with an alleged incident of anti-Semitic harassment that occurred last month on Manhattan's Upper East Side.

Police received a report that shortly after noon on Saturday, July 27, a 65-year-old man was walking near Fifth Avenue and East 68th Street when an unidentified person approached him and allegedly made anti-Semitic remarks.

The unidentified man then pulled down his face mask and spat in the victim's face, according to a statement from the NYPD's deputy public information officer reported to police.

The unidentified person fled on foot toward Madison Avenue and is described as a medium-complexioned man who was last seen wearing black pants, a black hat and a multicolored shirt, police said.

According to police, no injuries were reported in this incident. The NYPD's Hate Crimes Task Force is currently investigating.
