Family and friends remember young man killed in Yonkers shooting

A young man who was shot and killed in Yonkers on Monday will be remembered as a good person who cared for others.

Police have not yet released the victim's identity, but his mother says his name was Daquan. She said he called himself “Drizzy Woo.”

The shooting occurred around 5 p.m. off Ashburton Avenue in the Doyle Park area.

Police have released few details since the shooting. A possible motive is not yet known, but officials say there is no danger to the public.

People close to the victim tell News 12 that he was a funny and loving person.

“We all have good memories, it's going to hurt. I knew his mother for 13 or more years. I was just joking with Daquan, it's just hard,” says a close family friend.

A second man was shot at the same time and location Monday night. He was listed in stable condition at last check. His age and identity have not been released.

There is no information on how many suspects are involved in the incident or whether any arrests have been made.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Yonkers Police.
