Two people arrested in Moss Point after incidents involving school bus and firearm, police say

MOSS POINT, Mississippi (WLOX) – Two people are behind bars in Jackson County after two incidents involving a school bus and a gun.

According to Moss Point police, arrest warrants have been issued for 23-year-old Edwin Eugene White and 40-year-old Jacinta Kendral McPherson in connection with the events of August 23.

According to authorities, McPherson allegedly used a vehicle to block a school bus that was carrying children at the time while White attempted to confront the bus with a gun in his hand.

Police were then called to Kreole Elementary School after a parent in a vehicle reported seeing a man with a gun.

White was charged with simple assault on a school official. He is being held at the Jackson County Adult Detention Center with no bail set at this time.

McPherson was charged with obstructing school bus operations. She was released on bail.

The Moss Point Police Department and the Jackson County Sheriff's Office are investigating the incident.
