Man arrested for alleged theft of air conditioning scrap

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (KFVS) – A Hopkinsville, Kentucky man has been charged with theft after allegedly stealing junk air conditioning units.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Office, officers were called early Tuesday morning to a report of a suspicious vehicle near Lee's Heating and Air on Clark River Road.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as 62-year-old Mark McDowell.

McDowell was charged with theft by unauthorized taking (more than $1,000 but less than $10,000) for stealing junk air conditioning units from Lee's Heating and Air in recent weeks.

He was booked into the McCracken County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing and further charges are pending.
