After the tragic death of a doctor from Calcutta, investigations are being intensified

The medical community in Kolkata is reeling after the tragic rape and murder of Dr. Aditi Chatterjee, a young graduate who was found dead in the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital on August 9, 2024. The incident sparked widespread outrage and protests across the region, forcing the authorities to take immediate action. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken up the case and is not only looking for the perpetrator but also for possible links to corruption within the institution itself.

Following the discovery of Dr Chatterjee's body, found half-naked in the seminar hall, the prime suspect, 41-year-old Sanjay Roy, was arrested. Video footage showed him in hospital at the time of the murder and police found his Bluetooth earphones near the crime scene.
