Woman in prison for murdering her lover has died

KANSAS CITY – A woman serving a life sentence for killing a man who tried to end an extramarital affair with her has died in prison.

According to the Missouri Department of Corrections, 74-year-old Connie Sanders-Ford, an inmate at the Chillicothe Women's Prison, was pronounced dead shortly before 5 a.m. Monday, apparently of natural causes.

In March 2015, Sanders-Ford shot and killed 58-year-old John Jordan right outside the door of his home in Granby, Missouri. Jordan's wife Patricia and their two children testified at trial that the victim wanted to end the affair and save his marriage.

Patricia Jordan testified that Sanders-Ford broke into her home a month before the murder and informed her of the affair in an attempt to destroy the marriage. In 2016, District Judge Tim Perigo convicted Sanders-Ford of first-degree murder.
