Man from Rensselaer County allegedly strangled person and threatened with a knife

Joshua Lee is accused of threatening his victim with a knife and taking his phone.

A Rensselaer County man is accused of threatening and choking a person with a knife.

State police responded to a home on Sunday, August 25, for a dispute. Joshua M. Lee, 32, of Johnsonville allegedly pointed a knife, choked the person and restrained the victim.

Lee also took the victim's phone, preventing him from calling for help, investigators said.

The victim suffered minor injuries but was able to escape and call for help.

Police found Lee in his home. He was charged with two counts of criminal damage, menacing, false imprisonment, obstruction of breathing and harassment.

He was arraigned in Schaghticoke Municipal Court and released on bail.
