The Indian brand Bangalore has released the MACH 1 Avalanche

Since 2019, Bangalore Watch Company has expanded its MACH 1 portfolio to honor local aviation heroes such as the Indian Air Force's MiG 21, the Indian Navy's aircraft carrier INS Vikrant R11, and Indian women in commercial aviation. The latest MACH 1 Avalanche celebrates high-altitude rescue helicopters on the peaks of the Himalayas. The thin air makes it difficult to maintain lift, while biting cold and rugged terrain add to the extreme dangers of high-altitude rescues.

The stainless steel case is colored black with a matte PVD coating and is very wearable at 40mm in diameter and 10.8mm thick (46.5mm lug to lug). A flat AR sapphire crystal protects the dial, while the solid screw-down caseback depicts a helicopter flying over mountain peaks. There is a tapered push/pull crown and water resistance is 100 meters. The watch has a black leather strap with white stitching and a signed pin buckle.

The white dial has a pattern depicting fresh, powdery snow, and it also carries a Patterns made of grain which provides a shine/shimmer in different lighting conditions. The minute hand has bright red stripes that mimic a speedometer, while the second hand has a broad orange tip. All hands and edge dots are coated with C3 Grade-A Super-LumiNova. Black Arabic numerals are printed every five minutes from 05 to 60 in aviator-style Type B, and there is a black date window at 6 o'clock.

The MACH 1 Avalanche is powered by a Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement with 26 jewels, a beat frequency of 28,800 vph (4 Hz) and a power reserve of 38 hours. Functions include central hours, minutes, stop-seconds and date. Introduced in 2012, the movement is the main alternative to the ETA 2824-2 with an accuracy of +/-12 seconds per day.

The Bangalore MACH 1 Avalanche costs 1,200 USDFor more information and to order, visit the Bangalore Watch Company website.
