A leftward shift of the center leads to drug discovery

A 35-year-old Red Springs woman faces five charges following a traffic stop for allegedly driving left of center and failing to control her lane, Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields said in a statement to the Sandhills Sentinel.

Fields said Cassi Wagoner was driving in the 100 block of McReynolds Street in Carthage on Monday when she was stopped by detectives.

“After having reasonable suspicion, detectives searched the vehicle and discovered cocaine, methylphenidate and drug paraphernalia,” Fields said.

Wagoner was arrested for aggravated possession of cocaine, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance (methylphenidate) with intent to sell and deliver, simple possession of a Schedule II controlled substance (methylphenidate), possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving left of center.

Wagoner was held without bail for 48 hours at the Moore County Detention Center.

She is due to appear in court on September 11 and is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
