Salisbury woman killed in accident in Preston area, police investigating

PRESTON, Maryland – Maryland State Police are investigating a crash that killed a Salisbury woman Tuesday evening in Preston.

Shortly after 6:30 p.m., officers were called to the intersection of Route 16 (Harmony Road) and Grove Road for a two-car crash. Preliminary investigation revealed that a Ford was traveling south on Route 16 when, for unknown reasons, a Chevrolet allegedly failed to stop at the intersection and struck the Ford.

The driver and sole occupant of the Ford, identified as 30-year-old Courtney Dunn, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and a 16-year-old passenger in the Chevrolet were flown by Maryland State Police Aviation to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional and R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center to treat their injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
