Dead man found near North Little Rock identified as suspect in murder two weeks earlier

Pulaski County officials on Wednesday identified a man found dead nearly two weeks ago as a suspect in a homicide that occurred earlier this month and said his death also is being investigated as a homicide.

Authorities have been investigating the death of 48-year-old Chad Williams of North Little Rock since his body was found on the side of the road in the area of 6500 Kelly Road on August 17, the news release said. Based on the findings, they now believe it was a homicide.

Williams' cause of death was not disclosed in the press release and his identity had not been publicly released before Wednesday.

He was previously listed as a suspect in the killing of 53-year-old Jace Alexander, who officers found partially buried in a wooded area near Vaughn Road on August 2.

The location where Williams' body was found is about a mile from where officers found Alexander's body.

Officers arrested two more men in connection with Alexander's killing – 33-year-old Michael Nettles on August 15 and 38-year-old Dustin Stuart on August 16.

In his wanted poster, authorities said Williams could be armed and dangerous, that he did not own a vehicle and that he might be in the rural area of the county outside of North Little Rock.
