PORTSMOUTH, NH – The Piscataqua River Bridge, which connects New Hampshire and Maine, was closed for more than six hours Thursday after police shot and killed a wanted man and subsequently found a dead child in his car.

A press conference will be held at 2 p.m. at the Kittery, Maine police station. You can follow it live on CBS News Boston.

According to New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella, the unidentified man killed a woman in a home on Monadnock Street in Troy overnight and then drove nearly 100 miles to the bridge on Interstate 95 in Portsmouth, which is on the state line with Kittery, Maine.
