According to the petition, Castano was working near a forklift when an unsecured piping system weighing approximately 800 pounds shifted and fell on him. The incident resulted in severe injuries to his head, back, abdomen and legs.

The lawsuit accuses the defendants of negligence and gross negligence, citing deficiencies in safety protocols, equipment maintenance and employee training. Castano claims the companies were aware of the extreme risks but ignored them.

The company has not yet commented on the lawsuit.
