Man wants to be arrested and smashes windows of three police cars

A 41-year-old man was arrested on Friday evening after smashing the windows of three police cars in Tilburg. The reason for the vandalism was that he wanted to be arrested, police reported.

Late Friday evening, officers responded to a report of vandalism on Spoorlaan. A man had broken a window in a building there. The perpetrator waited for the police, confessed and asked to be arrested. But the officers only took his personal details and told him to leave.

A few hours later, just after 4 a.m., officers at the Stationsstraat police station heard loud bangs outside. It turned out that the windows of three police cars had been smashed. The man from Friday night was sitting between the cars with his hands behind his neck. This time the police arrested the 41-year-old.

The police were unable to find out why he wanted to go to prison. According to the police, the man has neither a fixed address nor a place of residence.
