Talks between Jake Paul and KSI could be revived by comparison with Floyd Mayweather | Boxing | Sport

KSI and Jake Paul have been told they need to restart fight negotiations for a long overdue and highly anticipated fight between the two rivals.

The rivalry between the two internet personalities has been brewing for over five years and is set to be the biggest YouTube boxing match since the boom of the last half decade.

Paul and KSI have been rivals since their days on YouTube. Both started boxing after Paul defeated Paul's brother in the ring in a one-off fight, while Jake defeated KSI's brother.

And although Logan Paul and KSI have become friends and founded PRIME Energy together, the British star and Jake remain bitter rivals – both continue to challenge each other without ever having a fight.

But boxing promoter Kellie Sauerland told them they had to put their egos aside when it came to a fight in which, if they were properly positioned, they could get an incredible amount back – and compared it to the fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquaio.

Sauerland told The Sun: “I've been boxing for 24 years and I've done unification fights and heavyweight world championships with multiple belts, so I've seen it's no different on the traditional side. You have to have things in hand, whether it's weights, whether it's purses, egos, whatever; the choice of dressing room, the choice of who gets announced first.”

Asked if he thought it could be a £100 million fight, Sauerland said: “And the rest! It's a massive fight. We all know that you have to understand that area in terms of numbers and that it's the equivalent of Mayweather-Pacquiao. That's the traditional part of the sport. So I think it will be similar numbers.”

While Paul has continued to be active in the ring, recently putting in three impressive performances with wins over pros Andre August and Ryan Bourland, as well as a stunning victory over Mike Perry, KSI is soon set to face another year away from the ring – his last fight ended in a loss to Tommy Fury.

Due to a hand injury, he had to cancel his comeback planned for August 31 in an unconventional two-on-one fight against Slim Albaher and Anthony Taylor.

Paul is currently preparing for his controversial fight in November against Mike Tyson, who is 31 years older than him and has been recognized as a professional fight.
