Class 10 student in Uttarakhand accuses teacher of sending offensive messages and nude photos

A 10th grade student in Uttarakhand has filed a sexual harassment complaint against one of her teachers. According to a NDTV In a report citing the 16-year-old girl's complaint, the girl claims that the teacher harassed her and sent her inappropriate pictures via WhatsApp and Snapchat.

According to reports, the victim spoke to her parents about the incident, who then reported it to the police.

“A teacher of a private school in Haldwani had sent offensive messages to a student on social media. We have received the complaint and initiated an investigation. The accused will be arrested soon,” Haldwani police officer Nitin Lohani was quoted as saying.

The accused teacher reportedly taught at the same school as the victim. He allegedly harassed the student and sent her offensive messages, causing her considerable distress.

The problem came to light after the student informed her parents about the situation, who approached social organizations and then filed a complaint at Kotwali police station.

Meanwhile, a 32-year-old technician was arrested in the Indian state of Gurugram in Haryana for allegedly sexually harassing an employee of a US company, police said on Friday.

The accused is said to have entered the woman's hotel room while drunk. In this connection, a complaint was filed against the accused at the Sector 29 police station, it was said.

A senior police officer said the accused was working on a joint venture project on behalf of his company. He was released on bail after joining the investigation.

The 27-year-old woman from Noida had come to the hotel on Wednesday for a meeting on behalf of her company. Most of the meeting participants stayed overnight at the hotel, the official added.

In her complaint, the woman stated that the defendant, a customer of her company, broke into her room while drunk on Thursday morning at around 3:30 a.m.

The man was escorted out of the room by hotel security and the police were informed.
