Tragic loss: Former Cardiff player Sol Bamba dies at 39

Souleymane “Sol” Bamba, known for his time at Cardiff City in the English Premier League, has tragically passed away at the age of 39. Bamba was most recently a coach for the Turkish club Adanaspor.

Bamba fell ill before his team's away match in Manisa and was admitted to Manisa Celal Bayar University Hospital, where he sadly passed away. Adanaspor expressed its deepest condolences to his family and the football community in a statement on Twitter.

Club president Asil Bostanci announced that Bamba was hospitalized with a fever on Friday morning, emphasizing the unexpectedness of this loss. Bamba had a remarkable career that began with Paris Saint-Germain and played in various European leagues, including 46 appearances for the Ivory Coast national team. During his career, he also battled and overcame non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
