Incubus' Morning View Show: A “wish” comes true at MSG

Incubus recently launched a US arena tour to celebrate their fourth album, 2001’s Morning viewand with support from Coheed and Cambria. On Thursday night (August 29), the group stopped by a sold-out Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Coheed and Cambria opened the evening promptly at 7:40 p.m. as fans streamed into the “most famous arena in the world.” The local heroes received huge applause from the crowd as they began with the title track of their second studio album, In “Keeping Secrets of the Silent Earth”: 3with frontman Claudio Sanchez striking a crab-like pose during some of the song's most intense moments.

The band kept the momentum going with the fan favorite “Ten Speed ​​​​(Of God's Blood and Burial),” which saw Sanchez trade in his Jackhammer custom guitar for a white Gibson Explorer and proudly display the Puerto Rican flag on the guitar's tailpiece. Coheed continued with “Blood Red Summer,” resulting in another gem from their second studio album, “A Favor House Atlantic.” As they have done throughout their summer tour, the band treated the crowd to a new song, the high-energy punk rock anthem “Blindside Sunny.”

With the hall almost full and the energy high, Coheed followed with a triple dose of their latest studio album, Vaxis II: A window to the waking mindwith “A Disappearing Act”, “Shoulders” and “The Liars Club”. At the end of their set, the band sent their fans into ecstasy with “Welcome Home”.

Incubus took to the MSG stage at 9:00 p.m. sharp. At this point, the Garden was packed to the rafters as singer Brandon Boyd and his band played Morning view from start to finish, starting with the opening track and top 10 rock hit “Nice to Know You.”

Among the Morning view The setlist included other radio hits such as “Wish You Were Here” and “Warning”, both of which were well received by the audience. Deeper album tracks such as “Circles” and “Echo” were also well received by the audience, with Boyd's voice in top form throughout the show.
