TV guest actress and mother of Todd Bridges was 83

Betty A. Bridges, who has guest starred in dozens of popular television series during her 40-year career, Good times And Charlie's Angels To Lou Grant And Hill Street Blues To HE And 2 Broke Girls and was later a well-known acting teacher, died on August 27th. She was 83 years old.

She died at her son's home in Phoenix. Different strokes and reality TV star Todd Bridges, where she was in hospice care. Rep. Elizabeth Much confirmed her death to Deadline but did not give a cause of death.

Betty Bridges was born on August 1, 1941 and began her career as a guest on television shows in the 1970s such as Policewoman, Charlie's Angels and Norman Lears Good times And Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman. She worked continuously for the next four decades, mainly in television, making guest appearances on popular series including Wonder Woman; What's Happening!!; Quincy, ME; CHiPs; Lou Grant; Diff'rent Strokes; Hill Street Blues; Dallas; Beverly Hills, 90210; Ally McBeal, The Practice – The Incredible Story, NYPD Blue, Scrubs And 2 broke girls.

Along the way, Bridges was also seen on the big screen in A night at Roxbury, Rooster, The Concrete Jungle and others. She also appeared in the short film Building bridges, It was written and directed by her sons Todd and Jimmy Bridges, the latter also an experienced actor.

She became a well-known Hollywood executive and acting teacher, co-founding the Kane Bridge Academy, an acting school where she was a popular teacher. She worked primarily with children, particularly minorities, and eventually ran her acting school from her home in Los Angeles, where she often gave free lessons to neighborhood children. Her students included Nia Long, Tony O'Dell, Sanaa Lathan, Marcus Chong, Shashawnee Hall and sisters Regina and Reina King, the family said.

Betty Bridges played a crucial role in Todd's recovery from addiction. Her family said her tough love and unwavering support underscored the profound influence of family and friends in overcoming life's toughest struggles.

In addition to her son Todd and his wife Bettijo Bridges, she leaves behind her son Jimmy Bridges, her daughter Verda Bridges Prpich, her adopted son Zerondrick Hubbard, and grandchildren Penny Bae Bridges, Brooke Marie Bridges, Raei Bridges, Mikai Emanuel Bridges, Paxton Isaiah Bridges, Radd Prpich, Bo Bridges, Spencir Bridges, Attalie Anne, Piper Hirschi, Modette Hirschi and Rockwell Hirschi.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Global Recovery Initiatives Foundation.
