Angel Reese: Chicago Sky rookie writes WNBA history again

CNN

WNBA star Angel Reese made history again on Friday after another impressive performance for the Chicago Sky.

Although the Sky lost 82-80 away to the Connecticut Sun, Reese is the only rookie player in WNBA history, along with Tina Charles, to record over 20 rebounds in multiple games.

After scoring 13 points and grabbing 20 rebounds, Reese also became the first player in the WNBA to record 20-plus rebounds in two consecutive games.

Every time Reese goes to court, she seems to break a new record.

Earlier this week, she became the fastest player in WNBA history to record 20 double-doubles in a single season and has already broken the record for most consecutive double-doubles in league history.

But while their personal successes are undisputed, the Sky have lost three of their last four games since returning from the Olympic break.

Chicago fell to 11-17 this season and currently occupies the last postseason spot, one game ahead of the (10-18) Atlanta Dream.

On Friday, Chicago narrowly lost to the Sun, who were led by Marina Mabrey's outstanding shooting performance.

The former Chicago player made five 3-pointers and finished the game with 24 points as a substitute.

Reese, who is averaging 13.6 points and 12.6 rebounds this season, has a chance to lead the Sky back to winning ways on Sunday in their home game against the Las Vegas Aces.
