Ybbs – Admira Wacker Amateurs – Open exchange of blows between Ybbs and the Admira Amateurs

Ybbs – Admira Wacker Amateure 3:3. The champions of the 2nd Regional League West will face off against those of the 2nd Regional League East on Saturday in the Ybbser Wüsterstrom-Arena, when the amateurs from Admira Wacker are guests. Ybbs is missing defender Christian Hackl due to problems with his Achilles tendon; instead, the young Fabian Kamleithner will make his starting debut in the 1st Regional League.

The distribution of roles quickly becomes clear: the Admira Amateurs take control of the game, have more possession of the ball, while the Ybbs team are well positioned at the back and want to achieve success through counterattacks. And Ybbs also has good chances: once through Viktor Vondryska, once through Thomas Hucko – the latter even gets the ball in the net, but the referee rules it offside. But the Panthers take the lead after just under a quarter of an hour: a pass into the depth and Markus Bachmeier wins the duel with ASK keeper Stefan Mitmasser – 1:0 for the guests.

Leitgeb duster to compensate

Only ten minutes later, however, the lead is gone again: Matteo Holzer grabs the ball after a press ball and shoots from around 16 meters, Admira goalie Lukas Limbeck is able to parry it to the side, but Manuel Leitgeb is ready for the follow-up shot – 1: 1.

The game continues to be a back and forth affair with Admira having the advantage and Ybbs making quick counterattacks. Both teams create chances, with Ybbs actually having the better chances. But the score remains 1:1 until halftime.

Ybbs takes the lead

After the break, things quickly get loud again – because Ybbs takes the lead! Ybbs captain Fabian Holzer sends Hucko down the left side, Hucko crosses to Dominik Aigner, Aigner passes to Matteo Holzer and the ASK youngster scores to make it 2-1.

The goal doesn't seem to do Ybbs any good, though: ASK loses the thread, while Admira comes back on the up. The Panthers then try to attack mainly from the side, literally tying Ybbs in. The result is a double blow around the 60th minute: Sandro Steiner lets his Panthers celebrate twice, with Mitmasser having another chance – Admira is back in the lead!

Another equaliser from the penalty spot

But this lead doesn't hold either: there's still a quarter of an hour to play when Leitgeb is pushed down from behind in the box – penalty! And Vondryska converts the penalty with a clean shot into the middle – 3:3!

The last few minutes are just as hot as the ones before: The Admira Amateurs have a few good opportunities and Vondryska could still secure the win for Ybbs – but in the end it remains a turbulent 3:3 point split, with Ybbs remaining unbeaten.

“It was a wild party,” says Ybbs coach Philipp Zulechner. “In terms of football, Admira deserved more, in terms of the chances we had.” I think the point is clear, it's okay.”

On the other side, Admira coach Florian Sauer was upset: “All in all, it was a really bitter pill for us to swallow. We started really well and took control straight away. We had a lot of chances, but unfortunately we didn't look twice at the back. The referee was to blame for one goal conceded. We should have decided the game earlier. So the 3:3 feels like a defeat.”
