2 drug dealers arrested with four packets of ganja worth Rs 80,000

The Crime Branch team has nabbed two drug peddlers Suraj Yadav (21) and Hari Gurjar (22), both residents of Vidisha, while selling ganja in the city. The cops seized four packets of ganja worth Rs 80,000 and a quad bike worth Rs 500,000. The accused were smuggling ganja from Odisha on the instructions of Mahendra Yadav and Ashok Vishwakarma of Vidisha and selling it in the state. Details say that Mahendra Yadav, who is absconding in a drug smuggling case, gave money to Suraj and Hari to buy ganja while Ashok provided a vehicle for smuggling. The team nabbed the dealers invoking Section 8\20 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. On the instructions of the police higher-ups, a team was formed under the leadership of station in-charge Ashok Marvi to investigate the illegal drug trade in the city. The Crime Branch team received a tip-off that two drug peddlers were planning to sell the substance at Jamboree Maidan. Realising the seriousness of the information, the team reached the crime scene and saw two suspects matching the informant's description. According to the information, Suraj Yadav and Hari Gurjar were carrying a bag hidden in a quad bike.

These bags contained illegal substances which led to their arrest. According to police, during interrogation, both the dealers admitted to carrying ganja. During interrogation, the smugglers revealed that both of them were selling 90 packets of ganja from unknown sellers from Odisha through Jharkhand as per the instructions of Mahendra and Ashok. They added that on their way to Bhopal, they were attacked by some unknown persons and 86 packets of drugs were stolen. The accused were planning to sell 4 packets of ganja which they had kept in the bag before the attack at Jamboore Maidan as instructed by Mahendra Yadav and Ashok Vishwakarma.
