Long traffic jam after crash with eight injured

Adelsried – At a Accident on the A8 In the Augsburg district, eight people were slightly injured early Monday morning.

In the incident near Adelsried, a delivery van and a truck collided shortly after 4 a.m., police said.

Two cars following behind were unable to brake and drove into the accident. Due to vehicle parts on the road, further accidents occurred.

In total, nine vehicles were involved in the incident, police said. The cause of the first collision was initially unclear.

On the A8 towards Stuttgart, two lanes had to remain closed until the morning for recovery operations.

A traffic jam of 14 kilometres in length formed between the Friedberg and Neusäß junctions.

According to the ADAC, drivers on the route had to expect a time loss of around one hour.
