Incident in Bremer Road, Staines: Tributes paid to man and three children

Police discovered their bodies at around 1.15pm on Saturday at a property in Bremer Road, Staines-Upon-Thames.

Neighbors said they believed a young Polish family with twins lived in the house and all three children were boys.

Surrey Police confirmed that the three children, all under the age of four, were related to the man.

A bouquet of flowers left outside the house on Sunday read: “Rest in peace, little one.”

“We will always think of you.”

The circumstances of her death are currently being investigated, but police believe it was an isolated incident without any third-party involvement.

The children’s mother and her closest relatives have been informed and are supported by specialist staff.

DCI Gareth Hicks, who is leading the investigation, said: “This is a truly tragic incident and thorough investigations are being carried out to establish exactly what happened.”

“We would like to thank the local community for their support and understanding during our investigation.

“We can now also announce that Bremer Road, which was closed for an extended period yesterday, is now fully reopened and there will continue to be a police presence in the area for the foreseeable future.”

Autopsies and formal identifications will be carried out in due course.

Based on previous police contact with those involved, Surrey Police has also made a mandatory report to the police watchdog, the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).

An IOPC spokesman said: “We have been informed by Surrey Police of the tragic incident in Spelthorne.

“We will consider a police referral to decide whether action needs to be taken by the IOPC.”
