Visit York and board the train used in The Railway Children

As The “The Railway Children”, a film classic of the 1970s, brought much joy to the screen with the famous Victorian locomotive “Green Dragon” and gave the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway great fame.

50 years later, the iconic Railway Children Line route is still as popular as ever and in partnership with Just Go, we're offering our readers a discounted price on this unique journey, now available from £129 per person (previously priced at £169 per person).

From your local pickup location, the adventure will depart by coach on 29 September towards York. Guests will be free to explore the historic city at their own leisure and explore the shops and museums it has to offer.

After an overnight stay and breakfast, the first stop is the charming village of Oxenhope, where you will all board and take your seats behind the legendary Green Dragon.

The five-mile round trip takes in stunning moorlands and the windswept moors of Yorkshire, a stop at Edwardian Oakworth station, which features in both the 1970 original and the 2022 sequel, Railway Journey, and a delicious Yorkshire snack and drink.

A talk by Graham Mitchell, who played the role of the train conductor in the original film, as well as behind-the-scenes facts and funny stories from the set by Chris Witty, who played the boy in the red jersey, are also part of the tour.

Enjoy the sights and sounds of this nostalgic journey, which includes round-trip coach transportation, an overnight stay at a select hotel with breakfast and dinner, and a gift bag (one per person).

Please specify NQD when booking.

The offer ends on September 12, 2024.
