SI paper leak: Former RPSC member brought to court and remanded in custody until September 7

Jaipur, September 2 (IANS): Former Rajasthan Public Service Commission member Ramu Ram Raika was produced before the court on Monday after he was arrested in connection with the Sub-Inspector 2021 recruitment exam document disclosure case and was also remanded in judicial custody by the court till September 7.

Raika was interrogated for about six hours after his arrest on Sunday evening.

Officials of the Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Rajasthan Police interrogated him soon after his arrest to find out the names of other people involved in the paper leak case.

Ramu Ram Raika was appointed as RPSC member on July 4, 2018, during the tenure of former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje. He worked as a member for the prestigious organization till July 4, 2022.

Earlier, the SOG had arrested five trainee sub-inspectors (SIs), including the son and daughter of Ramu Ram Raika, on Sunday.

All five SI trainees were brought before the court and remanded in custody for six days.

So far, 42 SI candidates have been arrested and more than 30 people have been caught who are linked to the paper leak gang.

The budding SIs arrested on Sunday included Shobha Raika, Devesh Raika, Manju Devi, Avinash and Vijendra.

Shobha is the daughter and Devesh is the son of Ramu Ram Raika.

Officials said all the arrested SI candidates had to take a re-examination on Sunday, which they failed.

Raika's son and daughter were surprisingly unable to write the name of the Governor of Rajasthan when asked to do so. They were also unable to recognize nouns and adjectives in their test.

Meanwhile, VK Singh, deputy director general of SOG, said, “No one will be spared in the SI paper leak case. We will arrest the last person connected with the case.”
