The bodies of three children and a man were discovered in a house in Surrey.

Police were called to a property in Bremer Road, Staines-upon-Thames, by the South East Coast Ambulance service at around 1.15pm on Saturday.

The bodies of a man and three children, all of whom police confirmed were under the age of four, were found at the scene.

Surrey Police said investigations are currently underway to clarify the circumstances of the death.

This is probably an isolated case without the involvement of third parties.

The relatives are being cared for by specialist staff and Bremer Road is currently closed.

Due to previous police contact with those involved, Surrey Police has also made a mandatory report to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).

Chief Inspector Lucy Sanders said: “This is a tragic loss of life in our community and we are working to establish exactly what happened.”

“There is currently a significant police presence on site and in the surrounding area and we would like to thank local residents for their patience and understanding while we carry out our investigations.”
