Singapore man and woman, aged 41 and 38, arrested after heroin, ‘ice’, ‘ecstasy’, cannabis and more found in Bedok North Unit – Mothership.SG

The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) seized a large quantity of heroin, “Ice” (Methamphetamine) and other drugs during a raid near Bedok North Avenue 4 on August 30.

The seized drugs, which could feed about 1,550 drug addicts for a week, have an estimated value of about S$343,000, according to a CNB press release on September 2.

2 Singaporeans arrested

According to CNB, its officers raided a residential unit near Bedok North Avenue 4 on the afternoon of August 30 for suspected drug activities.

Following the raid, a 38-year-old woman and a 41-year-old man, both Singaporeans, were arrested from the unit.

In total, the unit also seized approximately 2.8 kg of heroin, 385 g of “ice”, 51 g of “ecstasy”, 24 g of cannabis, 9 g of ketamine and 13 Erimin-5 tablets.

The investigation into the drug activities of the arrested suspects is ongoing.

Drug smuggling to Singapore is a criminal offence

CNB has reminded the public that trafficking in controlled drugs, offering to traffic in controlled drugs or carrying out or offering to traffic in controlled drugs is a criminal offence.

It does not matter whether the person carries out the above acts in his or her own name or in the name of another person inside or outside Singapore.

According to the CNB, anyone convicted of trafficking more than 15 grams of diamorphine or “pure heroin” or more than 250 grams of methamphetamine faces the death penalty.
