Man arrested on multiple charges after reporting domestic violence

911 call leads to arrest and execution of a search warrant

ALAMO, TN – August 31, 2024 – Today at 1:53 p.m., dispatchers received a domestic violence call involving a vehicle ramming into another vehicle at a residence on Colvett Road. Officers arrived on scene and CCSD Criminal Investigation responded, resulting in the arrest of a man and the execution of a search warrant on the property.

Brett Spence (DOB: 08/24/1988) was charged with aggravated assault (domestic violence by strangulation), possession of a weapon during the commission of a dangerous crime (felony), resisting arrest (felony), possession of illegal Schedule VI drugs (felony), and possession of drug paraphernalia (felony).

In addition, approximately $1,800 in cash and 28 weapons were seized as evidence.

Sheriff Troy Klyce said, “Our officers, investigators and the community are all united behind the goal of taking criminals off the streets. Two young officers took the lead on this case today and I am proud of them. Their work makes our communities safer and better. I am also proud that we have added apprehension, pursuit and drug detection dogs to our department. These apprehension dogs are top notch and were used today to apprehend this suspect. We will continue to utilize every tool and resource at our disposal to ensure the safety of Crockett County.”

This case is being prosecuted by District Attorney Frederick Agee of the 28th Judicial District. Mr. Spence will appear before Judge Paul Conley to answer these charges and bail will be set appropriate to the seriousness of these crimes.
