Anthony Joshua is 'unbeatable when fully trained' | Oleksandr Usyk could be after a fight against Daniel Dubois | Boxing news

Anthony Joshua wants to pursue his dream of becoming the undisputed heavyweight champion, even if that means fighting Oleksandr Usyk for a third time.

First, Joshua is focused on defeating Daniel Dubois to win the IBF belt and become a three-time heavyweight world champion himself.

Joshua will face Dubois on September 21 at Wembley Stadium in London, live on Sky Sports Box Office.

Daniel Dubois' trainer Don Charles tells Sky Sports he is in the best possible shape and ready for his fight against Anthony Joshua to defend his IBF heavyweight title, live on Sky Sports Box Office on September 21.

Attention will then turn to Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk, who will rematch on December 21 in Riyadh after the Ukrainian defeated Briton Fury in May to win the title undisputed.

Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn said: “All he thinks about is that Dubois wants to win the heavyweight world title, but I know that if he wins on September 21, the only fight he wants is the winner of Usyk-Fury.”

“He's always wanted to fight Fury, he definitely will, but when the decision is announced on December 21, he'll want the winner of that fight because he's just one fight away from being undisputed himself.”

Joshua lost his unified world title to Usyk in 2021 and was unable to improve on that result in a rematch the following year.

But his training team has evolved in the years since his first loss to Usyk and he is in good form under his new coach Ben Davison.

At Toe2Toe, Johnny Fisher says Daniel Dubois is the hardest puncher he has ever boxed against and admits it will be a close fight between him and Anthony Joshua.

“When he fully understands the game plan and fully executes it, I think he's unbeatable. And that's how we feel right now,” Hearn said.

This gives the promoter some confidence that Joshua could beat Dubois and then possibly defeat Usyk in the final part of a trilogy.

“With all due respect to Dubois, he's a dangerous guy, but he makes mistakes and it's not hard to judge him as a fighter. What he has is that he's very strong and can hit, but physically he's a problem. But he makes a lot of mistakes,” Hearn said.

“I think the momentum that comes with an AJ win in style would carry him into a great 2025, which funnily enough could be the defining moment of his career.”

A confident Daniel Dubois says he will euthanize Anthony Joshua on September 21.

But Joshua is also likely to face his great rival Tyson Fury, regardless of what happens in his own rematch against Usyk.

“I think he will fight Tyson Fury whether he wins or loses against Usyk [in December]. But he will also want to fight for the title, that has always been his dream,” said Hearn.

“But to fight Fury for the Undisputed title and to be the defending champion against the unified champion, that would be huge.

“If Usyk won, I think he [AJ] will want to fight Usyk, but I think he would also be under a lot of pressure to fight Fury depending on what happens in that fight.”
