Winona Ryder raves about 'Beetlejuice' co-star Jenna Ortega

Winona Ryder talks about her special relationship with Jenna Ortega.

The US actress developed a deep bond with the 21-year-olds while filming “Beetlejuice” together – the sequel to Tim Burton’s horror comedy that made Winona a world-famous star as a teenager.

Speaking to 'The Sun', the 52-year-old couldn't stop raving about her younger co-star. “I felt like I was seeing a younger version of myself – only she's 100 times cooler. I loved what Jenna brought with her so much. She's unique. You just blew me away. She's an incredible person. She's one of my favorite people. “She's the most authentic person ever,” Winona praises the 'Wednesday' actress. “Once the conversation started, it never stopped. I had this sacred bond with Jenna that was incredibly magical. It's like soulmates.”

Winona reprises her role as Lydia Deetz in Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. Jenna, meanwhile, plays Lydia's rebellious daughter Astrid, who struggles at school and has a bad relationship with her parents, just like Lydia in the first film. “I loved what Jenna brought to the film because it's absolutely unique.” She is one of my favorite people. This film had to be perfect. And I realized that we have been waiting for her to be born and grow up. “She's like the perfect puzzle piece to add,” explains the actress. “She completes it. I don't have enough adjectives – she is so incredible to work with and when you know her, you just love her.”
