6 people throw stones at the house of a murder suspect and are arrested

Gurgaon: The Criminal Police has arrested a gang of six people who allegedly threw stones at the house of a murder defendant Bhim Nagar and opened fire in the air on the afternoon of August 27. A homemade firearm was confiscated from them, police said.
The accused were identified as Sahnal alias Senu, Sameer alias Sona, Karan, Mohit alias Kingi, Deepak and Vishal Bajaj of Bhim Nagar.
Police said Sahnal's brother Ashish was shot dead in October 2023. On August 27, Sahnal and his friends pelted stones at the house of one of the accused and fired shots in the air to show their intention to avenge the murder.
“On August 27 at 1.10 am, police received a report of a shooting incident in Bhim Nagar. A team of officials rushed to the scene and met Raju, whose house was the target of the accused,” police said.
Raju told police that during a broadcast of Janmasthami Jagran near his house, a group of six people suddenly started pelting stones and one of them opened fire in the air.
He alleged that they insulted Raju's family and asked them to come outside. Raju and his family did not leave the house and instead called the police. The accused left the area but threatened to harm Raju and his family later.
“There has been a rivalry between the two groups since the murder. During the jagran, members of both the groups got into a fight over a minor issue. Subsequently, Sahnal and the other accused pelted stones at Raju's house and opened fire,” said Sandeep Kumar, spokesperson of the Gurgaon police.
The police team reviewed the video footage and registered a case under Section 25 of the Arms Act and Sections 287 (negligent conduct involving fire or combustible matter), 3 (5) (common intention) and 351 (3) (criminal intimidation) of the BNS on August 27.
“The accused were arrested from Marble Market in Sector 36 and Gwal Pahari on Saturday and Sunday,” an official said.
