Man on the run from the law tries to pull woman from her car near Hixson Walmart, police say

A man is in custody after police say he attempted to steal a car with a woman inside while on the run from the law.

According to an affidavit we obtained, a car with Seth Livingston as a passenger was stopped shortly before 9 p.m. Friday in the 5700 block of Highway 153. That's near the entrance to the Hixson Walmart.

According to a police report, Livingston showed signs of drug use and officers noted that he was “pale and sweaty.”

There was also an arrest warrant out of Collegedale for Livingston, the affidavit states.

According to the Signal Mountain Police Department (PD), Livingston was also wanted for theft after he and two other suspects stole a debit card from a purse in June.

The victim hired Livingston to help her move items into her home, according to Signal Mountain police.

They say purchases totaling over $1,000 were made with the debit card.

When police tried to handcuff Livingston on Friday, he ran away.

Officers said Livingston then attempted to steal a woman's car while she was sitting in it.

Although Livingston hit and kicked the officers, they eventually managed to get him out of the car.

According to police, Livingston appeared to lose consciousness on the way to jail.

He was taken to Memorial Hixson for a medical evaluation.

Livingston is now facing charges including attempted kidnapping and assault.
