Mother of stabbed 13-year-old boy pays tribute to ‘kind-hearted’ son

Two teenagers have been charged with the murder of a 13-year-old boy who was stabbed to death in his home last week.

Jahziah Coke died at the scene on Lovett Avenue in Oldbury on Thursday.

His mother paid tribute to him in a statement today, saying he was “a very polite, kind and family-oriented young man.”

“He was very loving and always smiling. His smile lit up the room. He was very kind-hearted.”

Last night, two teenagers arrested on Sunday were charged with Jahziah's murder.

For legal reasons they cannot be named.

A man in his forties who was also arrested yesterday was charged with aiding and abetting a crime.

All three are being held in police custody and will appear before Birmingham Magistrates Court today.

Investigators said they are not currently looking for anyone else as part of the investigation, but continue to ask that anyone with footage from dashboard cameras, doorbells, video surveillance systems or cell phones that could be helpful come forward.
