Fallen horse rescued with tractor and fire brigade

The incident occurred at around 9:24 am in Drefach and the horse was subsequently placed in the care of a veterinarian.

Firefighters from Ammanford and Carmarthen were called before leaving the scene at 12:31pm.

A spokesman for the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said:

“On Thursday 29 August, at 9.24am, Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service crews from Ammanford and Carmarthen Fire Stations were called to an incident in Drefach.

“The emergency services took care of a fully grown horse, approximately 4.80 m tall, that had fallen and was lying on the ground for several hours.

“In coordination with the horse owner and the veterinarian who was also present, the teams planned to get the horse back on its feet using a tractor and they succeeded.

“The horse was then placed in the care of the owner and the veterinarian. The emergency services left the scene of the accident at 12.31 p.m.”
