Alameda motorcyclist dies in collision with boulder on Highway 35

According to the California Highway Patrol, a motorcyclist died Monday after he apparently lost control on a curve and crashed into a boulder on Skyline Boulevard in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

The accident was reported around 1 p.m. after someone reported seeing an overturned 2014 Triumph Tiger 800 motorcycle on Highway 35, also known as Skyline, north of the Ward Road hiking trail, the CHP said in a news release.

Emergency crews were the first to arrive on the scene and pronounced the driver, identified only as a 30-year-old man from Alameda, dead at the scene. His name has not been released publicly until he has been officially identified and his next of kin has been notified by the Santa Clara County Coroner.
