Daena's mother Caroline is now looking after 3-year-old Ezra and 5-year-old Kyson after they moved to the family home in Roundwood, Co Wicklow.

Neighbors have launched a fundraiser to help the two boys after the tragic death of their mother.

The GoFundMe page states: “I'm sure you all heard the really sad news three weeks ago when Daena was brutally murdered by someone who supposedly loved her.

“Daena leaves behind two beautiful little boys. The house where Daena and her boys lived was set on fire and the boys lost many of their belongings.

“These two beautiful little boys must now leave home and start a new life with Daena’s mother, and their new little lives must be built from scratch.

“This will entail enormous costs as the house will now have to be prepared to accommodate two small boys.

“I and some of her nanny’s neighbors wanted to set up this Go Fund to help them build their new life.

“This is a very sad situation that no one should ever have to face. Please donate anything if you can to help these two boys.”

Speaking to the Irish Sun, her 18-year-old brother Callum Walsh paid tribute to his sister, describing her as “lovely” and “very kind”.

He also urged people to donate to the fundraiser, pointing out that the two boys “lost everything in the fire, from toys to electronics to clothes – everything is gone.”

He added: “All donations will go to the children, they have lost everything.”

Callum explained that the boys are settling in well in their new home, attending school and receiving support from their neighbours.

He added that the family told the two boys that “Mommy went to heaven.”

Callum paid tribute to the neighbours and the community, describing them as “very good and very friendly”.

Daena was found dead on August 2 after emergency services were called to a fire at a house on Connolly Street in Midleton.

She was pronounced dead at the scene and her partner Adam Corcoran was charged with murder.
