Musicians who said “no” to Trump’s use of their music

Several musicians have blocked Donald Trump from using their music. Find out who denied him permission and what the reaction was.

TetrisKelly:

Rihanna, Adele, Beyoncé, Céline Dion – what do they all have in common? They have spoken out against Donald Trump's use of their music. Here is a list of musicians who have spoken out against the Trump campaign.

“Please don't stop the music”? But Donald actually had to stop the music for RiRi. In 2018, she posted: “Neither I nor my people would ever attend one of these tragic rallies.”

Adele has been making waves in Germany recently, but she has disappeared not only from the country but also from US politics. When Trump used “Rolling in the Deep” as his entrance song at campaign events in 2016, Adele’s spokesperson countered with a statement to Billboard: “Adele has not given permission for her music to be used for political campaigns.”

Adele loves Beyoncé, and that's something they apparently have in common. Queen Beyoncé's team sent DT a cease and desist letter after a campaign staffer used her song “Freedom.” Vice President Harris approved the use.

And Céline Dion’s song about a tragic end was used at a Trump event. The use of “My Heart Will Go On” from Titanic prompted this post: “This use is in no way authorized and Céline Dion does not endorse this or any similar use. … And really, THIS song?”

From Queen to Prince and Ozzy to Pharrell, read about which other artists have said “no” to Trump on billboard.com.
