Woman hit by SUV in Mumbai succumbs to injuries while driver takes her to hospital – Mumbai News

A 27-year-old woman died in Mumbai on Tuesday evening when she was hit by a speeding SUV, police said.

The incident took place in Malad area of ​​the city, police added. After the incident, the accused driver took the injured woman to the hospital where doctors declared her dead.

Following the incident, charges were filed against the accused driver under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and he was arrested by the Mumbai Police.

Further investigations into the case are ongoing, police said.

In early July this year, a similar incident in Mumbai's Worli district left a woman and her husband dead when their scooter was rammed by a BMW driven by Mihir Shah – the son of Shiv Sena leader Rajesh Shah.

On July 22, a speeding Audi collided with two auto-rickshaws in Mumbai, injuring the drivers of both auto-rickshaws and two passengers.
