Westons Cider opens new tasting room at mill in Herefordshire

Westons Cider, the UK's leading producer of authentic ciders, has announced that it will relocate its store and bring a brand new 'tasting room' to its historic mill in the village of Much Marcle, Herefordshire.

The new venue officially opened its doors on September 3rd, offering cider lovers locally and beyond the opportunity to enjoy cider tastings as part of their visiting experience.

Westons has said the expansion will give more cider fans than ever the chance to visit the site, with expert tastings and 'guess the cider' activities. The new additions aren't the end of it though: guests can now book a Saturday night tour and hire the venue privately.

The company has stated that the new visitor centre is designed to “bring joy to cider fans in the county and promote tourism in the region”. and that the opening of the new restaurant coincides with the fall harvest, which they say is the perfect time to visit the local mill and see how the popular cider is made.

Helen Thomas, managing director at Westons Cider, said: “We work closely with local growers to source all of our apples from within a 50-mile radius of the mill.

“Simply put, without them we would not be able to produce our portfolio of delicious, authentically crafted ciders.

“The new tasting room and shop provides a place to come together while experiencing the mill and the beautiful landscape that is at the heart of Westons Cider.”

Founded in Much Marcle 144 years ago, Weston's has been owned by the same family for five generations and is now known worldwide for its incredible products.

The company, which sells more than one bottle per second, uses over 35,000 tons of fruit each autumn, all of which comes from growing areas within a 80-kilometer radius of the mill.

Former Gloucester Rugby Champion Mark Atkinson attended a launch event for all Westons staff earlier this month to celebrate the occasion and Westons' long-standing partnership with the club.
