Final year student and his parents remanded in custody for murder of Kwara graduate

Ilorin, Kwara State – Adebayo Happiness, a final year student of Summit University, Offa, his parents and an accomplice, 24-year-old Timileyin Kolawole, have been charged with the murder of 21-year-old Awesu Mojisola, a graduate of Kwara State College of Health Technology.

Legit.ng recalls that Mojisola was found dead at a garbage dump in Aleniboro area of ​​Ilorin.

The suspects were arraigned before an Ilorin High Magistrates Court on Tuesday, September 3.

Chief Justice Wahab Saka ordered the remand of the suspects at the Federal Correctional Centre, Oke Kura, Ilorin.

According to The Punch, Happiness is said to have killed Mojisola on August 10, 2024, in the room of Whitefield Hotel in Ilorin after tricking her into attending a botched graduation ceremony.

The suspects were charged with alleged criminal conspiracy, intentional killing, theft, identity fraud and destruction of evidence contrary to sections 97, 221, 287, 179 and 167 of the Penal Code and computer fraud contrary to sections 14(2)(3), 22(2)(3) of the Cyber ​​Crime Prevention and Prohibition Act 2015.

How the suspect's parents helped him

The prosecution led by ASP Isaac Yakub told the court that Happiness' mother helped him remove the SIM card from the victim's phone and hide it in a fenced block far from their residence in Ogunse area of ​​Offa while his father helped keep the iPhone in a family car parked in their property.

However, the court did not accept the defendants’ plea.

The Chief Justice adjourned the case for further hearing to September 12, 2024.

UNIPORT student found dead in her boyfriend’s apartment
