Shreveport suspect sought after gunshot and shooting

Shreveport Police are actively searching 31-year-old Gerrica Stewartwho is wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred on the evening of August 30. At approximately 8:30 p.m., Shreveport Police Department patrol officers were notified of a shooting at a local hospital. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the actual crime scene was at the intersection of Buncombe Road and West Bert Kouns Industrial Loop.

The investigation revealed that the victim was involved in an argument with the suspect Gerrica Stewart. During the argument Stewart allegedly struck the victim with a handgun, which led to a physical altercation. The suspect then used the same handgun to shoot the victim.

After the shooting, the victim was taken to her home in a private vehicle, where she then called 911. She was then taken to the hospital for treatment.

Gerrica Stewart is now wanted for second degree aggravated assault. Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to contact Shreveport Police Department at (318) 673-7300.
