Southampton boy arrested after brawl in Andover town centre

The Southampton teenager was arrested after police responded to a public order incident in Andover town centre just before 7pm on Tuesday evening.

When officers arrived at the scene on High Street, three victims came forward to say they had been attacked by a group of people.

Two of the victims – a man in his 40s and a man in his 20s – suffered minor facial injuries.

A third person, a 16-year-old boy who was passing by on a moped at the time, was hit on the motorcycle helmet but was uninjured.

Hampshire Police arrested two people in connection with this incident.

A 31-year-old man from Andover was arrested on suspicion of assault.

A 16-year-old boy from Southampton was arrested on suspicion of affray, assault, criminal damage and public disorderly conduct.

Both persons are currently in police custody.

Officers are conducting investigations to determine the circumstances of the incident.

They are appealing for witnesses to come forward as they believe there were people in the High Street or Bridge Street area at the time who may have witnessed the incident.
