Chrissie Watts (Tracy-Ann Oberman) is officially back at EastEnders – but not in the way many fans expected.

The cult character from the 2000s celebrated his long-awaited return to the BBC soap at the climax of Friday's episode, marking the next stage in the ongoing storyline of “The Six.”

But instead of returning to Albert Square, it has been revealed that she will face her old enemy Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) in prison.

Earlier this week, Sharon was taken into police custody for contempt of court after she lost her temper on the witness stand at Dean Wicks' (Matt Di Angelo) murder trial and accused a judge of “slut-shaming” her.

Although the truth about the involvement of the “Six” has now come to light – Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) confessed her role in the murder of Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters) to his sister Bernie (Clair Norris) – Sharon still had to spend a week behind bars because of her outburst in court.

After a visit from Phil Mitchell's (Steve McFadden) lawyer Ritchie Scott (Sian Webber) failed to dismiss the charges against her, she was taken to prison and shown her cell.

What she doesn't know, however, is that Chrissie is in the cell next door. She was imprisoned in 2005 for the murder of Sharon's father Den Watts (Leslie Grantham).

In The Queen Vic, Chrissie killed her husband Den with Pauline Fowler's (Wendy Richards) dog doorstop while confronting her ex-husband about his various misdeeds along with Zoe Slater (Michelle Ryan) and Sam Mitchell (Kim Medcalf).

Back then, Chrissie made Zoe believe she had killed Den after punching him during their showdown, but in fact she later finished him off herself.

After learning that Chrissie was the real perpetrator, Sharon played a crucial role in bringing her to justice. When Chrissie was arrested, she punched her at the scene of her arrest at an airport as she attempted to flee the country.

As the two women face off again after 19 years, it's clear that Chrissie has the upper hand behind bars. Viewers saw her win over the prison guards, and at the end of Friday's episode, one of them brought her cigarettes in her cell.

Chrissie is probably out for revenge. What does this mean for Sharon?
