Health worker arrested in Baitadi for rape – myRepublica

BAITADI, Sept 5: A health worker was arrested on rape charges in Baitadi. According to the District Police Office, Baitadi, 41-year-old Janak Singh Dhami of Sigas Rural Municipality-2 was arrested on Wednesday.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Deepak Giri told Republica that Dhami, who works at a health facility in Sigas Rural Municipality, is accused of raping a 31-year-old woman.

It is reported that the woman identified as the victim in this case filed a complaint at Ganjari police station a few days ago, alleging that Dhami had assaulted her. The complaint was first discussed and settled at the site with the involvement of community members and representatives.

However, the victim has now filed a formal complaint with the police, accusing Dhami of raping her. In her complaint, the victim stated that Dhami raped her repeatedly under various temptations. Preliminary investigations suggest that the victim is unmarried while Dhami is married.

DSP Giri said that Dhami has been taken into police custody and an investigation is being conducted against him on the basis of the complainant’s allegations.
