Man arrested for raping a minor in Eintkhedi

Bhopal: A man is said to have taken a 15-year-old girl, a student in the 10th grade, to a farmhouse in the Eintkhedi and raped her. Based on the complaint, Eintkhedi police registered a rape case against the accused under relevant sections of the BNS and POCSO Act on Thursday and arrested him within a few hours. After the incident, the girl's health deteriorated and the family came to know about it. They took her to the police station, after which the case was registered and the accused was arrested.
Police said the 15-year-old girl, a student of Class 10, claimed to know the accused, a 30-year-old man named Irfan, who lived in the village. She called him uncle. On August 28, she went to school. She was playing on the floor during lunch break when Irfan arrived. He told her that some of her belongings were kept at his farm and asked her to accompany him to collect them.
When she went to Irfan's farmhouse to get the things, he closed the room door and raped her. When the girl protested, he threatened her with death and abused her with caste-related slurs. The frightened girl did not complain about this to school and went home. The next day, her health deteriorated and she was counseled by her family members, after which she told them about her ordeal.
As her health improved, her family took her to the police station on Thursday where the girl filed a complaint against the accused. Considering the seriousness of the incident, SHO Eintkhedi Durjan Singh Barkade had formed a special team to nab the accused. When the team reached the village, it was found that the accused Irfan had disappeared. Before he could leave the town, he was arrested by the police. The accused is being interrogated further.
