Pastor murder case: Report filed for death threats against son

LUDHIANA: The son of a pastor who was involved in a targeted attack in 2017 claimed that three men on a motorcycle threatened with murder him if he testified against the main defendant Jagtar Singh JohalA British citizen.
pastor Sultan Masih was shot in front of the “Temple of God” Church on July 15, 2017 in Peerubanda Mohalla district of Ludhiana.
His son Alisha Sultan, a pastor, claimed: “I was standing outside the church on July 7 when three youths in turbans arrived on unlicensed motorbikes. They shouted slogans and threatened to kill me if I testified in court against Johal and his companions.”
The police had arrested Johal and his accomplices in the case. They were booked at Salem Tabri police station under sections 302, 34 and 120 B of the IPC and sections 10, 11, 13, 16 of the UAPA Act and section 25 of the Arms Act.
Investigating officer Harmesh Lal said, “After recording the statement of Rev. Sultan on Wednesday, we have registered a case under Section 232, 61 (2) and 351 (2) of the BNS Act at Salem Tabri police station.” He said they had scanned the CCTV cameras installed near the church, but they did not capture the location where the accused threatened the reverend.
