The Bridgwater brothers open a new gym facility in the Wireworks Estate

Body Mechanics was founded in 2020 by brothers Spencer (24) and Laurence Nicholson (28) from Bridgwater and its newly modernised premises opened on Sunday 1st September.

The new site on Bristol Road will have “the same staff and atmosphere”, but with new group sessions such as strength training and cardio classes for all ability levels, including those with disabilities and the elderly.

It will also continue to offer the same treatments as Body Mechanics' previous location in The Drove, but now on a “larger scale”.

These treatments include pain and injury management, rehabilitative sports massage, dry needling, acupuncture, spinal and joint manipulation, instrument-assisted soft tissue manipulation, one-on-one training, vibration therapy, and Rocktape kinesiology taping.

Spencer said: “We felt it was time to expand and offer our services on a larger scale as we saw how many people were benefitting.”

“I am a sports therapist, but I also do fitness coaching and personal training. We want to offer this not only to people who enjoy training and are in top shape, but also to people who feel that they do not have access to sport or are unable to do so.

“There is a suitable course for everyone. For people who cannot train alone or cannot move like others.”

On the upper floor of the new facility, the brothers are setting up a relaxation room with ice baths and saunas that people can use after their session, as well as a meditation room for “mental well-being.”
